What is Launch Jacking?
Launch Jacking is a form of affiliate marketing specifically designed to take advantage of the anticipation, excitement, and traffic from the launch process.
Launching products has become the go to method from the likes of digital marketers as well as big brands like Apple.
I'll discuss in a future training how to go about launching your own product.
Today, we're looking at this from the affiliate side.
How Does Launch Jacking Work?
We'll mainly be discussing this from the digital marketing world because that's probably what most are familiar with.
However, you can apply this technique to any of the following
For example, let's assume you're a big fitness buff and the one supplement brand you use decides to launch a new line.
Or maybe there's a new camera coming out that you plan to buy.
For any of these scenarios, you can utilize a launch jacking strategy.
The reason I say this is because so many think that it's strictly limited to digital products and that's not the case.
How Much Time Do I Need?
It all depends on how competitive your market is.
For me, personally I like to have a minimum of 3 weeks to get everything setup, request demos, build the email campaigns, and setup the content.
You'll want to begin as soon as possible because you'll have others making an effort to rank, so the earlier the better when it comes to launch jacking.

Here's how the Launch Process works
Step 1: The World Gets Notice of the Launch
In this stage, the product creator has decided to publish their launch for their Joint Venture and affiliate partners to participate in the launch.
Typically, these notices are anywhere from 2 weeks up to 6 months.
The reason behind this is to get all of the affiliates excited to promote.
These will be posted on launch forums and posting sites like JVnotify Pro and Muncheye.com
If you're outside of the Internet marketing space, then do a search on Google and Facebook for your keyword + JV or Keyword + launch to find groups that are looking for affiliates to promote.
Some of the best promotions I've done are not on any public posting.
That's why you need to sign up to the JV list as often there are launches that aren't made to the public.
Step 2: Affiliates and JV Partners Begin To Mail
In a typical launch, the product creator will send over a "Swipe File."
A swipe file is a group of suggested emails to promote to your email list outlining the product.
Typically these are 5-7 emails to use from different angles.
One of the biggest mistakes I see affiliate marketers making is using these swipe files verbatim.
If you've been in the marketing world for any amount of time, then you've probably seen 3-5 emails the same email getting floated around by different people.
That's because they used the swipe file emails instead of simply using them for inspiration and crafting their own.

These emails that are getting broadcast out typically begin with the pre-launch content.
The prelaunch content is geared to wet the whistle of the reader, add reciprocity, and building up for the big release.
Step 3: The Product Launches
After all of the pre-launch emails have been sent, now the order button is live and emails are flying directly to the sales page.
Emails will continue throughout the launch and on the final day, you'll begin to see a lot of scarcity driven emails emphasizing the Fear Of Missing Out.
Where is the opportunity?
During all of the emails that are getting broadcast, there's a large group of people that are on the receiving end of these emails that have questions.
After all, since most are just blanketing their email providers with the same swipe emails, there's a spillover that occurs inside Google and Youtube looking for...
This traffic is ultra targeted which means you don't need a ton of clicks to make a substantial amount of money.
This was the primary strategy I used when I found myself facing over $100,000 in credit card debt alone.
Launch Jacking Tip
It's important to realize that you want to get the promotions rolling as soon as possible. With the amount of digital marketing products, you want to be sure to promote early when the product is in launch mode because that's when there'll be the most eyeballs and traffic.
Don't wait until the launch is over when it's lost it's momentum.
With that being said, I've made a substantial amount of money from "evergreen products" however most in the marketing world will have their pop and then the traffic drops as soon as the launch is over.
How Do I Find Product Launches for Launch Jacking?
You'll want to browse Muncheye and JVnotify Pro as well as getting on product creators email list.
Be sure to use a separate, yet checked emails as some of the creators mail their list offers fairly often.
You can also find offers on Kartra's marketplace as well.
If you can find an offer that's not being promoted on one of these boards yet from a reputable provider, often you can crank out a review and get to the top without a lot of competition.
4 Part System to Launch Jacking Success
Create The Review Video
For me, I'd prefer to start off with a review video because I can utilize that video for ranking in both Youtube and Google.
If you look at many of the recent launches, you'll see videos are shown on the first page - so why not? In doing so, my goal is to also take up an additional spot on the first page - one for my video and one for my website.
I should add, use the same Youtube channel for your review videos - it's not necessary to setup multiple channels. If you have one channel and post regularly, it will gain in authority and rank easier.
Create a New Blog Post and Insert the Video On Your Blog
You'll now create a review post on your website and use the video you made from step # 1 to embed to your new blog post.
When writing your content, you'll want to answer as many of the following questions about your product:
Send an Email Out to Your New Blog Post
You'll want to send an email to your list linking to your new blog post.
If the offer is good and it connects with your list, you'll make commissions plus it's telling Youtube and Google that you've got real traffic consuming your content, which in turn helps ranking in the search engines.
Build the Links
Finally, once you've got your content all ready to go, you'll need to begin your backlinking campaign as soon as possible. This is critical because once you start your link building campaign, you're also building up the authority of your overall domain making it easier for future rankings.

The key is to not get down when a launch doesn't perform the way you thought it would. Some are going to be home runs while others you may not make anything.
Even though, I've been on countless leaderboards and made a lot from the launch jacking process, there's been some launches that didn't pan out whether it was from tech issues, the sales letter not converting, or the messaging being off.
The key is to keep pushing.
