It's why I put together this step by step tutorial for you to follow below.
Again, this is all using 100% free tools inside the WordPress Directory.
Why Should You Clone Websites?
If you're running a small man operation, it's critical that you use bots and systems as much as possible.
Aside from it being a massive time saver, it's easier to build something one time, get it all perfected, then launch it with your cloned "template" and you stand less of a chance of making mistakes.
We have built a lot of sites in our day and this is a massive time saver plus it systematizes the process in the event you want to outsource the WordPress installation side.
Setting up every single site with your favorite theme alone makes the process something that can easily be created then replicated.
In the event, you want to scale your SEO, it makes it even more of a no-brainer because you're able to hand off your cloned site for easy replication with very small tweaks to make.
Here's the step by step
You'll need two free plugins to pull it off.
The first is Big File Uploads and the other is All in One WP Migration.
Both of these plugins are 100% free.
- 1Install All In One WP Migration on both sites- the one you want to replicate and the new one you're launching
- 2Install the Big File Uploads plugin on the new site you'e launching (the one you're cloning to)
- 3Change the file upload size with Big File Uploads to 200-300 megabytes. The reason we're doing this is because many of the clones sites are rather large and WordPress by default limits the file size of these uploads.
- 4Create your clone from your template site and download
- 5Upload the file to All In One WP Migration and follow the steps.
Once you're finished with the process, you're newly launched site will have an exact replica of your cloned template site.
Note the following important changes:
For starters, once you officially clone your site, your new site will have the same login as your template (your old site).
If you filled out the SEO details, company details within Rank Math or Yoast SEO, as well as the site name, these will all need to be modified.
This takes a couple of minutes but saves a massive amount of time when compared to installing everything from scratch.
