As you navigate through this process, you'll hear the term True View alot. True View is Youtube's fancy way of saying it's a view that someone chooses to watch.
Video Discovery Ads
These are ads that appear when someone does a search inside Youtube and appear at the top of the search results and to the right of the video you're watching.
Using the discovery ad, you can pinpoint and target who your ads are displaying to based on the search.
This is one of Youtube's True View ads and you pay when someone clicks on your ad.
InStream Video Ad
These are video ads that appear "in stream" before the video you selected plays and also considered "True View"
Inside these ads, you'll have two calls to action.
First is on the video itself and secondly you have a companion banner graphic on the right hand side of the video as you see below.

The great part about these ads?
You don't pay anything until someone hits 30 seconds of watched time on your video or when someone clicks. That means someone could watch your video ad up to 29 seconds, not click your link, and you'll not be billed for that ad.
You're able to target these types of ads based on keywords as well as direct placement on content creator's videos.

Inside this tab, is where you'll do a search for potential targets to place your ads on by using keywords.
In this example, I'm going to use the term "Affiliate Marketing" in the search bar.
Inside this gives me the list where I can get the list to post inside my Google Ads account to have my ads displayed on these Youtube videos.
Or I can save them to my Tubesift "Placement List."
I can check for Trending Videos so I can put my ads in front of videos that are in the process of getting a lot of views.
Next, I can find more videos based on the relation of the video as you see below:
This allows you to expand even more videos to further your reach in your space.
Next is the Channel Search function
This allows you to grab all of the videos under a specific channel.
So, let's say you had weight loss product you're promoting.
You could grab all of the Youtube Fitness Influencers channel url's and place them into Tubesift to get all of the monetized videos for you to insert your ads on.

This is a huge advantage because you're able to see what others are doing in your space, the language they're using so you can craft your own ads while having a footprint of what others in the space are doing.
